StoryCollab's story is genuinely powerful — a nonprofit that trains people to tell their own first-person stories for social change — but the old site buried that behind generic nonprofit language. It was hard to tell at a glance who StoryCollab actually serves (education, healthcare, NGOs, government, environment) or how a "collab" actually works from first conversation to finished story. The client work itself, spanning youth foster care advocacy to watershed conservation to community college curriculum, wasn't organized in a way that let a prospective partner quickly see themselves reflected in a past project.
253 Media rebuilt the site around StoryCollab's actual process — Listen, Design, Collaborate — so visitors immediately understand what working together looks like. We restructured "Client Collabs" as mini case studies, each with clear Story Goals and a Collab Solution, so the impact of the work speaks for itself instead of being described in the abstract. Video and audio stories were pulled to the forefront throughout, letting the first-person voices StoryCollab champions carry the site rather than marketing copy standing in for them.
